1. Agreement

By paying a deposit or confirming a booking, the Hirer agrees to these Terms & Conditions. All hire items remain the property of Lofte Hire at all times.

2. Booking, Deposit & Confirmation

  • A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking.

  • Once the deposit is paid, these Terms & Conditions are deemed accepted, and all quoted items are secured and confirmed.

  • Once confirmed, items and quantities cannot be removed or decreased.

  • All hire items are supplied in sets of 10 (quantities must be ordered in multiples of 10).

  • Changes or additions may be made up to 14 days prior to the event (subject to availability).

  • No changes can be made within 14 days of the event.

3. Payment

  • Full payment is required 14 days before delivery or collection.

  • Any costs relating to damage, loss, late return, or cleaning will be invoiced after the hire period.

4. Hire Period

  • Standard hire period is Thursday to Monday, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • The hire period begins when items are delivered or collected and ends when they are returned or collected by Lofte.

  • Late returns may incur additional hire fees.

5. Delivery & Collection

  • Free delivery and collection Coromandel-wide applies to hire bookings of $500 or more (before GST).

  • Bookings under $500 will incur a delivery fee.

  • Delivery outside the Coromandel area will incur an additional charge

  • The Hirer must ensure safe, accessible delivery and collection access, and that someone is present to receive and return items.

  • The Hirer is responsible for all equipment from the moment it leaves LØFTE premises until it is returned or collected.

6. Use, Care & Cleaning of Equipment

  • The Hirer must take all reasonable care of the equipment and use it only for its intended purpose.

  • All glassware, crockery, and cutlery must be rinsed, food-free, and repacked into supplied containers.

  • Please do not leave cutlery to soak, as this can cause damage.

  • Glassware must be packed upright in boxes.

  • Items returned dirty or incorrectly packed will incur a $50 cleaning or repacking fee.

  • Hire equipment is not insured while outside LØFTE premises or vehicles - the Hirer is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage.

7. Damage, Loss & Breakages

  • The Hirer must notify LØFTE immediately of any damage, breakage, or missing items.

  • Damage, loss, or breakage of items or packaging is charged at full replacement cost.

  • Replacement costs are based on current retail value, including shipping where applicable.

  • Items not returned within the agreed hire period will be deemed lost and charged at replacement value.

8. Cancellations & Postponements

  • The 25% deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances

  • Cancellations within 30 days of the event may incur full hire fees.

  • Postponements may be moved to a new date (subject to availability) at LØFTEs discretion.

  • If a postponed booking is later cancelled, the deposit remains non-refundable.

9. Liability & Insurance

  • The Hirer is responsible for the equipment during the entire hire period and should arrange insurance if desired.

  • LØFTE is not liable for injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from the use of hire items.

  • No warranty is provided as to suitability for any specific purpose.

10. Return & Inspection

  • All items will be inspected upon return or collection.

  • Any charges for damage, loss, or cleaning will be invoiced to the Hirer, payable within 7 days.

11. Ownership & Title

  • All hire items remain the property of LØFTE. Items must not be sold, sub-hired, or otherwise disposed of.

12. Governing Law

  • These Terms & Conditions are governed by New Zealand law.

Acceptance

By paying the 25% deposit, the Hirer acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to Lofte Hire’s Terms & Conditions of Hire.
